I waited until I had my winters wood in (18 cords of maple, hickory and elm ) before I commented on this axe.
I'm a 72 year old man who had heart surgery last winter and I decided that my exercise regime would be hand splitting our firewood.
This axe made it possible for me to do just that. The design seems to allow the axe head impart more energy to the split as the pieces fly further from the chopping block then before. Sometimes I do need to make the initial split of a block with my splitting maul, but after that this axe makes short work of the rest. Needless to say I'm very impressed.
I would be remiss if I didn't mention the knowledgeable and customer focused service I received from the folks at Axeman.

The grinding wheels came very fast and work great
I love this thing. It is so quick, easy and accurate compared to the original angle setter. This you don’t have to think about the size of the stone, nor eyeball the contact angle of the tool and bevel. This is a very good pick.
